Remember how this same area looked in Spring? (That was back when the walls were a shade muddier).
White and bright was a great improvement at the time, but I am DIGGIN this Autumnal combo thanks to a china blue painted pot borrowed from mum and some pops of mustard, red, leaf green, honeyed wood, and black.
I don't trust my 'styling' abilities much (real life isn't styled) but I do my best to make a space beautiful AND practical. I am constantly finding ways to make life more efficient and I believe your interior design should be made to WORK for you. This whole area is functional and it literally makes our days easier. Why? Well, maybe I should leave that for another post, but there are hundreds of simple tricks to make your interior work for you.
Of course, there's always space for pure prettiness too.

The colours tie in nicely with the Grace and Mercy prints I made last year. A coloured doormat would be fun but I haven't seen any that I love yet.
In the context of the rest of the living room, it's kinda lovely too:

Practical: A bowl for keys, and a little bowl for small change and cufflinks:
Oh, and did you spot the front door? I painted it to match the black painted letterbox.
It's kinda kick-ass now.
(Previously it was a dull, chipped dirty blue:)
Phew!
Do seasons get you all changing-things-up?
I'm on a ridiculous organising spree at the moment which I thought was only supposed to happen in Spring!
