The 3 hour garage cleanout

Garage organisation before and afters, by Amy MacLeod, Five Kinds of Happy blog

You know what guys, I'm secretly hoping you all get as much of a kick out of seeing things get organised and cleaned up as I do.
This isn't going to be the prettiest post, but it's all kinds of awesome in my book.
In a nutshell, I went to my parents house and did a spur-of-the-moment cleanout of the momentous amount of junk and disorder in there. The room doubles as a laundry and well....

I'll let the before and afters speak for themselves.

The front wall:

{This was just a cleanup and putting a nail in the wall for the bag}

Definitely one of the best parts of this was hammering nails into the wall to hang things on. Mm sweet sweet organisation. You are so satisfying.

I found this old 'Free Range Eggs' sign that my brother made when we were kids - my Mum had a lot of chooks and we used to sell their eggs. The sign was buried down the back of the shelves and it is too good to hide away - so we hung it over the washer and sink. I love how it's now all chipped and vintage looking.

So there you have it, short, sweet, and satisfying! There is still a lot to do in here, but seeing clean, clear floorspace makes me breathe again.
And yeah, I am the freak who goes to people's houses and does backbreaking makeovers when they aren't looking... then decides it's a good time to bake cookies... then washes my car, comes home, moves furniture around, realises it's 4pm and I still haven't had lunch or breakfast..... and finally sits down to watch X Factor.

That is me.
When there are house-related things to do, I just don't know when to stop. And I love it.

 P.S There are some pretty updates on their way from around our little abode - looking forward to showing you tomorrow and next week!
