..... so I didn't think we had done THAT much to this house since we moved in 7 weeks ago.

Until I looked back at these photos from back then...

 {Check out the curtains in that last one...! mmm}

We bought this little 1940's townhouse/apartment last year, then got married and moved in.

While we haven't done anything major to this room (we painted the fireplace white, and one wall because it was a weird orangey colour!), I think it's safe to say it's come a looong way with some careful arranging, furniture-choosing, and colour-coordinating (my dream come true. For serious!).

Everything in this room is either second-hand, home-made, or was gifted to us, so we didn't spend a lot, except for time and love! Most of this work was done in the last 7 weeks without me realising I was doing it! I guess I procrastinate school-work a lot? ;)

I can't tell if the room actually looks beautiful, or if it just looks that way to us because we love this little house so much!

 Thanks for coming on a little tour of our living room! It's not nesessarily 'finished' but I thought I'd show you where we're up to.
Please excuse the photo quality... trust me, I cringe.
:)

  1. Lovely Amy! I love the cushion to disguise your chair, although I think the chair is lovely. I also love the green velvet lounge in the before photo! Beautful wedding photos and good choice of frames. I love that beech timber look. It's nice to reflect to see what we have achieved. Thanks for sharing. Kelly

  6. Very nice! Inspired idea to put a mirror in front of the fireplace. I'm sure that it bounces the morning light quite nicely.
